A KIRIGAMI PALACE FOR DECOREX INTERNATIONAL’S 2013 CAMPAIGN
Decorex International are the UK’s top luxury interior design event. Every year they hold an international celebration of the very best design talent; from British sensations, to an eclectic mix of new, emerging designers, plus the latest collections by world-renowned suppliers. For the 2013 event Decorex had a change of location and wanted to commission a kirigami model to celebrate it’s new home as well as front their marketing campaign.
The model was cut from a single sheet of A3 paper and displayed in a lightbox at the entrance to the venue.
“Although the Decorex structure is quite clearly a homage to the vast plethora of architectural styles and design on view, on a deeper level it highlights that an individual’s interpretation of a home is very personal. Whether you live in a modernist concrete house, a Georgian mansion, or a lateral flat, the Decorex structure reminds us that your home is your castle and encourages us celebrate its potential by creating an inner sanctum worthy of a king.”
